What is the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot Program (RNIP)?
The Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot Project is designed to help Canada’s rural and northern communities gain access to skilled workers and federal government funding to help immigrants settle in local communities. These countries face many challenges, including aging populations, labor shortages, and youth out-migration. Very few immigrants are spread across Canada and prefer to settle in major metropolitan centers such as Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal, missing out on other profitable opportunities by moving to the North Bay.
This situation is about to change. Community employers would be interested in the recruitment and immigration process by recognizing labor shortages and offering permanent jobs to foreign employees.

You must meet both Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada’s eligibility criteria and your community’s specific requirements to apply to immigrate to Canada under the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot Program. A two-step process is to submit an application. Then, by meeting the community’s criteria, you must receive a community recommendation. Then, the official application for permanent residence is submitted to Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada for a final decision.

Language Requirements
Your language proficiency in English CLB or French (NCLC) depends on the occupation in which an employer in the North Bay community has offered you employment. See the minimum language specifications below:
